CHILI CHALLENGE
AND
SILENT AUCTION
2008
     

Saturday, February 23rd, 10:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. at Athens High School

Tickets: $7.00 each (children 10 and under free)

Taste a sample of each kind of chili and vote for your favorite! Enjoy the free house chili, salad bar, beverages, cookies and ice cream!

Come bid on items in the Silent Auction and shop at the Country Store! And for the kids—fun activities!!

All auction items not claimed by 3:00 p.m. must be picked up at the Hospice Office at 405 S. Marion Street on Monday, Feb. 26.

 
     

HOW TO BID IN THE SILENT AUCTION:
 
1.
Bidding begins at 10:00.  All the items will be displayed in one of the following categories:
 

Antiques & Collectibles
Sports
Lawn and Garden
Fine Arts
Lessons and Services
Entertainment
Home Furnishings
Childrens
Jewlery & Accessories

 
 
2.

Find the items you want.

 
 
3.

Write “Both” your name, telephone number and your bid on the bid sheet beside the item. You must bid in increments listed on the bid sheet.

 
 
4.

Someone else may write down a bid higher than yours. If so, go back and bid again. Keep this up until you reach your highest bid or until bidding is closed at 1:30.  A warning will be given at 1:15.

 
 
5.

Bidding ends at 1:30. Please clear the Silent Auction area PROMPTLY.

 
 
6.

By 2:00, or when announced over the loudspeaker, please go to the designated area to pay for your Silent Auction items.

 
 
7.

After you pay, you will be given the bid sheet marked “PAID”, which you will take to the Silent Auction area and exchange for the items or gift certificate you have purchased. You will not receive your item or gift certificate without this bid sheet marked “PAID”.

 
 
8.
 It has been requested that all items be picked up the day of Chili.  Any items not paid for and claimed by 3 p.m. will be taken to the Hospice office located at 405 S. Marion Street and may be claimed Wednesday, February 27.
